Originally a workers cottage, this house had been built in 1891 and substantially altered prior to this renovation in 2004.
The original cottage was retained and restored, and a modern living space was added to the rear in an L-shape wrapping around a courtyard.
By separating the building the new family room has access to winter sun and cross ventilation.
The project was awarded the Hunters Hill Council Good Design Awards (People’s Choice) for Heritage and Conservation 2006.
