This alteration modified half of a semi-detached dwelling to accommodate a family of 5, while still being sympathetic to the adjoining building.
The original enclosed balcony was demolished, opening the enlarged kitchen/family room and new deck to the north.
The existing attic space was converted to house 2 bedrooms and a study. The bathroom was relocated to the middle of the house and a second bathroom was located off the stair landing.
The interior fitout was a mix of old and new. Recycled floorboards and windows and doors were sourced to match the existing, The client sourced recycled joinery items to be incorporated into new joinery and used as the island bench.
